It’s not just the private sector that’s having trouble finding employees.
Oakland County officials continue to appeal to job applicants. More than 75 openings exist. Some are intended for internships, part-time, seasonal jobs and others for full-time professionals.
“Oakland County is a great place to work with good pay and great benefits,” said Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter. “This virtual job fair offers a great opportunity to take the next step on your successful career path.”
The county is hosting a virtual job fair, from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19. The full job listing is online at oakgov.com/jobs.
Opportunities range from entry to senior level jobs in parks and recreation, animal shelters and pet adoption center, workforce development, sheriff’s office, human resources and other departments.
The types of jobs to be filled range from campground and concession workers to construction inspector, corrections deputy, sheriff’s deputy, caretaker, human resources analyst , the office clerk and the veterinary technician.
County employees have access to tracking as well as tuition reimbursement, among other benefits. People applying for jobs in the county should demonstrate “a commitment to a diverse workforce,” according to the announcement, and expect “a culture where employees develop a sense of camaraderie that contributes to a low turnover rate and feel empowered to provide the best customer service.”
