The UK’s highest and lowest paying jobs in 2022 – full list

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed the highest and lowest paying jobs in the UK for 2022.

According to the survey, senior executives and senior civil servants earn the most money, earning an average of £121,434 a year. However, with an annual salary of £14,064, recreation and theme park attendants earn the least.

Highlighting the huge gap between top and bottom earners, the data revealed a whopping £107,370 between the highest and lowest earners in the country, the Mirror reported.

Marketing, sales and advertising managers were the second highest earners on the list, earning an average of £91,818. Financial managers and directors followed closely in third place, with an average salary of £91,853.

Without accounting for inflation, the median weekly earnings of full-time workers increased by 5% to £640 in 2022. However, accounting for inflation, the weekly earnings of full-time workers actually increased decreased by 2.6% during the year.

In 2022, the proportion of low-paid employees fell to 10.5%, the lowest since records began in 1997. However, in contrast, 509,000 people were paid less than the national minimum wage in 2022, compared to 409 000 in 2019.

The figures were released by the ONS as part of its annual Hours and Earnings Survey. However, the ONS admits the year-on-year changes could be the result of the pandemic and the furlough.
