Do you wear perfume? Yes. I’ve worn Calvin Klein “Euphoria” my entire adult life.

Must-have jewelry? My family has a jewelry store at The Rocks in Sydney, Jason Ree, which my grandfather started. I wear two rings designed by my uncle – one in rose gold with a black pearl and another with a pear cut Australian sapphire, which is a design called “The Charlotte”.

Do you remember a favorite outfit from your childhood? There was a matching pink, orange and navy striped shirt and pants set that I wore from age two until age five. I would have continued to wear it if it still fit me. I was obsessed, I loved it.

And your worst fashion mistake? Rainbow knee high socks.

What was your first fashion moment? My parents’ wedding. I was eight years old and wore an ivory silk bridesmaid dress with a gold sash and a gerbera daisy in my hair. I thought I was so beautiful.

Is there anything you would never wear? Ladder stockings and flaking nail polish, two things my mother drilled into me as unacceptable.

What do you covet? I’m looking for the perfect long camel coat.

Is there a current fashion trend that you love? I love a trendy clutch.

What shoes do you wear most often? White See “Esplar” sneakers.

What do you wear to bed? A T-shirt my partner bought me from Wylie’s Baths in Coogee. We often take rounds there and then have the $10 breakfast plate – the best, cheapest breakfast in Sydney!

Do you have a favorite fashion icon? Susie’s Cave. I think she is exquisite. And I love that she brings back elegant dresses. High collar but not too wise, they are beautiful, classic and timeless.

What do you wear on a typical work day? If I’m heading into the office for my day job as a marketing manager at Pan Macmillan, it might be a silk skirt with a sweater and sneakers. If I’m doing a photo shoot for my content writing and cookbook business, it’s going to be a trendy dress – Aje, Lee Mathews or Bec + Bridge.

What’s your favorite laid-back, laid-back Sunday look? I go to read, cook or swim, so leggings and a Uniqlo jumper, or an oversized T-shirt and racers. Casual, no makeup, no candlelight.

Heartbake (Allen & Unwin) by Charlotte Ree will be released in March 2023.
