South Milwaukee mom uses Facebook group to sell custom t-shirts and cups

Joy Paul (right) and her daughter Brooklynn work together on BEA-Joyful Boutique, a Facebook group and soon to be a Shopify store for personalized t-shirts (as seen here) and tumblers.

A conversation with friends about ordering hair bows for their daughters led Joy Paul to launch a new wave of custom clothing and accessories.

The hair bows were never ordered, but instead South Milwaukee resident Paul purchased a Cricut machine.

“He stayed in a box for a while, it was a bit intimidating,” Paul said. A Cricut machine cuts various materials. Paul uses it to cut vinyl designs that are pressed onto shirts.

After some trial and error and several YouTube and TikTok videos later, Paul now operates BEA-Joyful Boutique, a Facebook group with over 550 members where his unique shirts and tumblers are sold. Paul also hopes to launch a Shopify store in the coming months.

“I actually love doing it,” Paul said. “I love seeing prints come to life.”
