Robbie Hooker reaffirmed as superintendent finalist in Clarke County

The Clarke County School Board filled two leadership positions on Thursday while saying a former Athens educator was the only finalist for the district’s next superintendent.

The school board this week named Robbie Hooker as the sole finalist to become the next superintendent and reaffirmed that choice on Thursday.

Currently Superintendent of Schools for Social Circle City, Hooker would begin his new role on Oct. 10, according to a news release.

Hooker began his teaching career nearly 30 years ago in Clarke County at WR Coile Middle School, the news release said. Later in his career, he was principal of Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School and Clarke Central High School.
