Due to continued growth, we are adding an Inventory Analysis and Planning Manager to our team in New Castle, DE. In this dynamic and visible role, you will coordinate overall inventory strategy, planning and execution activities across all customer service sites and business segments and within each department and support function to achieve objectives. availability, cost, visibility, throughput and continuous service level improvement – ​​through financial analysis or data science methods.

As a member of the leadership team within SCM, the Inventory Planning Manager is responsible for safeguarding market-leading SCM inventory performance at competitive costs derived from business requirements . What you will do:

  • Lead the inventory planning team by overseeing and managing standard planning processes and methodologies to ensure lean but reduced risk material availability. The right part, the right place, the right time, the right price!
  • Develop and drive a comprehensive inventory strategy. Ensure optimal timing, cost and availability. The successful candidate must be an expert data analyst (and, to some extent, financial).
  • Analyze contractual and operational demand to optimize stocks. Report on-demand/planned material.
  • Expand current critical metrics and reports to enable data-driven decisions at all stages of material planning and utilization.
  • Create transparency within the company to optimize inventory and stock control procedures.
  • Improve productivity in all planning activities and improve inventory processes and costs.
  • Manage all aspects of inventory planning operations – ensure there is no shortage of material with minimal surplus available.
  • Pursue operational efficiency through robotic automation of task/reporting/monitoring processes. Correlate multiple inventory data sources to find actionable results.
  • Forecast future bulk demand and ensure appropriate staffing levels are planned and achieved. Put in place tools for planning and forward-looking monitoring.
  • Report forecast demand with staggered delivery schedules to strategic sourcing to get optimal price discount and incorporate it into planning.
  • Ensure that the space available in multiple locations is used as efficiently as possible through proper hardware availability planning.
  • Coach and develop managers and team members through regular performance dialogues and performance reviews. Ensure that all employees receive effective training.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Data Science, Financial Analysis, related field or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing operations, datasets or inventory planning in a large equipment project environment. Similar experience with demonstrably transferable abilities will be considered.
  • Strong ERP knowledge and experience:
  • Advanced experience with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
  • Able to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic approach to inventory planning, utilization and monitoring.
