An ex-mechanic has revealed he made $25,000 in just one month from his job answering questions.

Randall Gibbons, 76, signed up as an expert on the JustAnswer site in 2009 and answered questions from motorists during his lunch break.

Gibbons, of California, turned her side hustle into a full-time job in 2021, CNBC reports.

He gets paid $20 per question and answers about 300 a week.

Gibbons made $25,000 in July 2021 and made over $115,000 in total last year.

And, he’s already earned $100,000 this year.

Gibbons was stunned by his comeback saying, “If someone told me I was going to make that kind of money here, I’d say, ‘You’re crazy’.”

The mechanical enthusiast revealed that he spends around 50 hours a week answering questions online.

Gibbons has been passionate about machines for decades since he started repairing motorcycles at just 14 years old.

He was a repairman after finding a job ad in the local paper in 1993 and worked at an RV shop for decades.

Gibbons first encountered JustAnswer when a customer brought in his Buick Riviera car that needed fixing.

One of the Gibbons employees mentioned the website because he didn’t know how to fix the vehicle.

Gibbons told CNBC his colleague paid $35 for a question about their Chevy and got a response within 15 minutes.

Experts who use JustAnswer tend to earn between $2,000 and $7,000 per month, according to its website.

Gibbons revealed that answering questions is an attractive extra income for those who don’t want to commit to working a specific number of hours.

Experts can choose which questions they answer and how long they spend on the site.
