Editorial Manager (CDD) – Job | ArtsHub United Kingdom

Venue: Manchester International Festival/The Factory

Remote Status: Hybrid Remote

Salary: £32,000 – £35,000

Contract: 12 months fixed term

Job Summary:

As we become a year-round organization and open the doors to The Factory, it’s an incredibly exciting time to join us. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a new editorial function and developing regular editorial content for publication on our digital platforms – helping us build and deepen our relationships with our audiences through masterful storytelling.

Developing our standards, guidelines and tone of voice on our brand new Factory website and digital platforms, this role will be critical in translating our values ​​and narrative to our audience and opening our virtual doors to collaboration and partnerships with external contributors and communities.

The essential criteria for the role of editorial manager are:

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience working in an editorial environment and experience developing and delivering high quality editorial content for an assortment of platforms

• Demonstrable creative writing and editing skills and attention to detail

• Experience managing the production and editorial tone of original material in the form of written articles, images and audio

• Experience writing for target audiences, using data to understand their needs and expectations

• Demonstrable ability to develop new creative ideas

• Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at all levels of the organization with a proven ability to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds

Ideally, the editorial manager would have:

• Experience taking ideas from concept to publication while driving creativity forward

• An understanding and experience of website CMS systems

• Experience using evaluation metrics and analysis tools such as Google Analytics

• Effective planning and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple areas of work at once, setting priorities, meeting deadlines consistently and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities

• Good editorial judgment and ability to decide when to seek advice and escalate issues when appropriate

• An understanding of image licensing and photography

• Experience commissioning and working with freelance writers
