Tired of slaving away at a grueling 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. concert? Fear not, an enterprising TikToker claims people can earn an extra $5,000 a month watching YouTube videos all day, per clip with over 250,000 views on TikTok.
“That’s a $5,000 a month hustle that nobody talks about,” online life coach Ryan Magin teases in the tutorial. The influencer regularly posts about a variety of life hacks ranging from editing videos for easy money to the best ways to talk to girls.
His latest shortcut to success is called time stamping, which involves watching podcasts or YouTube videos that are ten minutes or longer, then ripping 1-2 minute clips to upload to TikTok. “You’re basically the person who finds clips that go viral,” says Magin.
The influencer claims parking meters can bring in up to $5,000 a month, which Magin knows because that’s how much he pays someone to “do this for me and my team.”
Landing in this lucrative side hustle is simple. Magin explains that would-be time stamps should first create a TikTok and then watch a bunch of clips from a famous internet personality like YouTuber “Logan Paul.”
Then, cut out the most viral snippets and organize them with the goal of making one go viral, defined here as racking up at least 1 million views.
“You don’t have to caption them,” says Magin. “You don’t have to make fancy modifications. You’re just trying to get one of the clips to hit.
Virulence is super important because it’s basically a resume that you can then take to Logan Paul or some similar internet icon to then apply for a job, according to the clip.
“If you have the proof, they’ll hire you,” says Magin, who claims Youtubers will pay parking meters from $2,000 to over $5,000.
He explains that the timestamp is very valuable to them because it’s both “long” to do and also “highly valuable”.
“If they say yes, you’ve just gotten a hustle just to watch YouTube videos,” Magin said.
Luckily, there are supposedly faster ways to make money on the side. For example, New Yorkers could earn $90 in just three minutes by reporting idling trucks.
