Reporting to the Maynooth Access Program (MAP) Student Advisory Director, we are looking for an Assistive Technology Student Advisor who will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of inclusive assistive/educational technology supporting the access, retention and success of students with low participation in higher education (HE). The role involves working with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to assess, deliver and coordinate a wide range of assistive/educational technologies to support student learning and success at Maynooth University.

The role of the MAP Assistive Technology Student Advisor is to raise awareness about educational assistive technology and work individually and/or in groups with students to best use educational/assistive technology to support their learning . The role also includes referring and directing students to other appropriate internal and external services.

The MAP Assistive Technology Student Advisor role also involves moderating and creating content and resources for MAP student platforms to improve digital skills and student well-being. The role of MAP Assistive Technology Student Advisor has a specific responsibility to support students with disabilities. In line with our commitments to addressing intersectionality and integrating technology and learning to support an inclusive approach to learning for all students, the role is to work with all underrepresented groups, including students from from socio-economically disadvantaged areas, mature students, higher education scholarship holders, single parents, refugees and protection seekers, students with care experience and traveling and Roma students studying at the university.

The MAP Assistive Technology Student Advisor will participate in and contribute to MAP’s student counseling service and relevant areas of MAP’s strategic and operational planning and delivery. The MAP Assistive Technology Student Advisor is based in a consolidated Student Advisory Service and part of a larger team that includes student outreach and support professionals, technical, clinical and administrative staff.


Senior Executive Assistant: €41,591 to €51,081 per year prorated (7 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector salary provisions.
